One or more lash extensions are applied and bonded to a single natural lash. Eyelash extensions are an advanced technique that enhances the curliness, fullness, and thickness adding length to your natural lashes. There are four types of lash extensions; Classic, Hybrids,Volume and Mega Volume.

Applying multiple thin lash extensions, (3-8 fine lashes) wrapping the extensions around a single natural, fanning out, giving you a fluffy, fuller look. Volume lash extensions generally last longer than Classic extensions due to the way the extensions are applied. Generally lasting 3-4 weeks at most. Application process is the same as volume lash extensions but added extra but thinner lash extensions to give you a dramatic look. Depending on the look you want to achieve, and depending on how many natural lashes you have, mega volumes could end up looking like a hybrid or volume set. When you come in we can consider what is your best option. Mind you, this is dependent on the client’s health of their natural lashes. If your lashes are not in the best state, I will not proceed to avoid damaging your natural lashes. The health of your lashes is my priority! Generally lasting 3-4 weeks. (15-to-1)

They are a high-quality synthetic Mink – a soft plastic used to replicate Mink hairs.

Real animal mink was an old technique used before lash extensions were more advanced, it can cause allergic reactions and it is not sanitary. It is not recommended.

Before coming in for your appointment please make sure you have filled out the Covid form and waiver form under Waiver and Regulations.

Do not come in with makeup, clean up before your appointment as you cannot get them wet for 24 hours after application.

You will need to remove your contact before application.

Bring in a blanket if you like. I usually have a very comfy set up for my clients but due to Covid at this time I have temporarily taken away sheets and blankets to minimize washing and business costs.

During Covid I ask my clients to stay in their vehicle and text notifying me you have arrived; I will then let you know when it is safe to come in.

Before installing extensions, you will lay down, I will then apply gel pads or tape to hold down your lower lashes to prevent discomfort and aid in application. You will then have your eyes closed the entire process. Eyelash extensions should not hurt when applied correctly. It is extremely comfortable, non- intrusive treatment and the majority of my clients relax, or fall asleep.

When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lash.

I will apply the appropriate weight and length to ensure the integrity of your natural lash. Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your lash artist is not using proper techniques. Lashes that are too heavy, or clusters have a larger amount of adhesive and can cause your natural lash to break. Aftercare is also important! Do not pull or touch your extensions with your fingers. Please brush with your spoolie provided at appointment whenever you feel is needed. Do not brush from the base, brush mid-to-tips only!

Generally, it takes about 1.5 hours for a full installation of eyelashes. But it can vary depending on the volume of your natural lashes.

Nearly as long as a fresh set, but not quite.

AFTERCARE:

Do not get them wet for 24-48 hours, avoid sweating, tears, showering, swimming, steam rooms, saunas, etc.

You should gently wash them 3–5 times a week. This helps avoid possible build up and blepharitis (Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelids. It usually affects both eyes along the edges of the eyelids. It commonly occurs when tiny oil glands near the base of the eyelashes become clogged, causing irritation and redness. This is why it is very important to keep your lashes clean.

The best way to clean them is to use oil free cleanser and disposable lip applicators. Warning: do not use cotton – cotton will floss your lashes off when you brush through if any is left behind.

Apply a bit of foam cleanser to your disposable lip applicator.

Gently rub it through the base of your lashes.

Ad a pump of foam cleanser on your lashes, gently brush thoroughly.

Rinse out with a plastic rinse bottle.

Gently pat dry with paper towel or a tissue.

If you can’t get it all cleaned, its ok! Do the best you can, and on appointment I will do a theral clean to make sure there is no build up and residue.

Avoid anything oil based as it will break down the adhesive.

Avoid heat, most lashes are synthetic and will lose curl or even become singed when exposed to excessive heat even for a second, like opening the oven.

Don’t pull off, pick or play with your extensions. This could permanently damage your natural lashes. If you want your lashes removed, I can remove them for you.

Do not perm or tint your lashes.

Do not sleep on your face. If you wake up and notice they are laying funny; Wash them with your lash cleanser, while wet gently brush through them from mid-way to the tip, then use your blow dryer on the cold setting to dry them while you continue to brush them upwards and in the correct direction.

Surrender the mascara, this will make your lashes crusty and heavy.

Schedule your fill every 2-3 weeks.

To maintain a full look for an extended period of time, you should a refill done after every 2-3 weeks. If you take a longer gap in between fills, there is a risk that you may need a new set at appointment. On average, a person can lose up to 20% of their natural lashes every two weeks. Natural eyelashes grow in and fall out in cycles, which occurs every 60 to 90 days. Depending on their individual lash growth cycles, a person can typically shed between 1 and 5 natural lashes every day, so it is important not to pass 3 weeks as this could cause your lashes to grow out too far up, damaging your natural lashes.

Yes! The bonding agent is waterproof. But it is recommended to wait at least 24 to 48 hours before getting them wet after application. This will help prolong their life cycle.

Most eyelash extension adhesives have a bond time of anywhere from 2-6 weeks. However, they will only last as long as your natural lash does.

Yes, you can wear eyeshadow and/or foundation. However, be aware of eyeliner (your best bet is to use black eyeshadow and apply it with a fine tipped with a soft makeup brush) but please do not put mascara on your extensions. When selecting make-up, make sure it is oil free. If you regularly where make up, it is recommended to use a daily cleanser with make-up remover that is safe for your lashes to remove residue at the end of the day. Never go to bed with your make up on, this will affect the longevity of your lash extensions and health of your natural lashes.

If the problem persists please contact your physician. There are adhesives available for sensitivity but this doesn’t guarantee it will work for you. If you know you have sensitivities, I recommend booking a patch test before initial appointment.

Here are a few possibilities; You are going through a lash cycle which is when a majority of your natural lashing are moving from the growth stage to a shedding stage in their natural cycle. Lash sheds are also common in the Spring and Fall, as for timing it is different for everyone. You got them wet in the first 24-48 hours and the adhesive did not cure completely. Humidity also has an effect on the curing process so maybe the salon wasn’t humid enough/was too humid to adhere properly. You traveled from an area where the humidity was drastically different. It could be that you have a tendency for oily skin that causes the adhesive to break down. There are dozens of potential problems and solutions, when you come in for your next appt if this is an re-occurring issue, we can discuss the possibilities and ways to prevent this from happening.
